Our dream to have a Mission House and a transit house in Kerala came true on 3rd October 2001 when we bought seven and half acres of land at Vettikkattiri under the leadership of Rev. Fr. John Vadakkel. After purchasing the land Rev. Fr. John Vadakkel was entrusted with the responsibility to begin an Ashram there. Fr. John Vadakkel started to stay in a rented house at Cheruthuruthi on 15th October 2001. Meanwhile a temporary shed was built in our land.
The temporary shed was blessed by Very Rev. Fr. Robert Kalaran the then Superior General, on 24 December 2001. Fr. John Vadakkel was appointed the first superior of the Ashram. On 12 September 2002 the foundation stone for the Mission House and seminary was blessed by Rev. Fr. George Aranchery. The new building was blessed by Very Rev.Fr. John Olickal the then Provincial Superior on 3 June 2003. The same day formation for the first batch of first year Minor Seminarians was started.
Fr. Mathew Puthenpura was appointed the first Rector. On 21 September, 2003 the Chapel (Ground floor) and the Mission House was officially blessed by Archbishop Most. Rev. Jacob Thoomkuzhy. Recruitment and the initial year of Minor Seminary formation are done here. The Fathers render pastoral services also to the neighbouring parishes.
